the 1600xt is a mid level ati graphic card, but its more than enough if you are playing css and more powerful cards might overheat in shuttles

Well, maybe check the settings on overlays at your catalyst driver. But unfortunately I am guessing its a faulty lcd :(

also remember that they need time to perfect the video cards to accomodate dx10. If i were you, I will wait for the dx10 cards to be in a mature...
Also the 5200 has T&L support which is a must in some games. I wouldn't say an MX would be better, but a GF4 Ti4200 will.
