My guess would be that your driver isnt installed / configured correctly :) I'd reinstall and reconfigure. I had this same thing happen to me once...

debian and a nice desktop, imo Nothing special I guess. Running Debian 'sarge'.. The wallpaper can be found in DA under the 'mac' sub section....
converting the rpm -> deb with alien and then installing it with dpkg works fine for me. This driver was a major improvement over the last one...
