Hdr runs well on my 9800 pro, all I set was texture details and mipmap to medium and I get 45 fps at 1024*768, i'm q. happy with that
it sounds like a problem with ati tray tools, you could either uninstall it, or select reinstall low level driver from its start menu shortcut
