those drivers were probably made before the 5900xt ever came out, so it won't recognize it properly. same with the 6600s and the 61.77 drivers.
They are supposed to be near silent. I would exchange it. if you try to repair it, it'll probably void the warranty.
if it's all stock, then you're in the correct range. Your cpu is probably bottlenecking the score....

did you even look at the omega numbers? they are based on the 61.77s which are hella old.
the memory will default to the lowest timings automatically. it's all controlled by the SPD chips.

if you had a virus, did you reload windows? some of your system files may have been damaged.
the 5500 and 5700 are based on different cores. there are no extra pipelines to unlock so it's really pointless to try to flash to a different...
