    unless you're building to specifics in which you have no intention of even remotely possibly carrying the psu forward, upgrading the machine at all or literally anything, i would even venture below 430watt for a "fair" psu model.

    The floor for me is 550watts these days, and the ceiling is still 750watts for a top tier PSU. The only reason one would go higher wattage wise is strictly for the sake of dualing up gpus, running crazy hardware specifications, or LN2.

    and what if you run a 12900k wich can use up to 250W and a 3090 wich can do 450w thats is already 700W not counting the rest of the components in the system.

    Those aren't typical builds. Exceptions to the general build theory always exist, which is of course always the case for the extreme niche part of the market in which that would apply.
