This past weekend a guy by the name of "sheeno" posted about the Nvidia issue /w video decoding. He listed a site from MS that has HD windows video files on it. Now if I convert this files into a format that can be burned to dvd, and played on a typical console style dvd. Will the resolution definitely be the standard 480 lines or maybe higher?

    Sad but ture!

The only way to experience Videos encoded with this high Resolution is playing it with your PC.

That or output from your computer to your HDTV via a componet or DVi connection(well sort of, the computer would probably output it at 1080i....since 1080p is beyond the HDTV spec)

It should be noted though that using HDTV stuff as you source while encoding to a DVD format should result in a vary vary nice transfer :)
