sounds like alot of money will be spent :w00t:
haha, thats usually how it works...replace $$ with drool puddles
this is a score with a (extremely hot at this speed and voltage!!) prescott 2.8ghz @ 245fsb 3430mhz
Very nice indeed......damn I need a new computer!!
Very nice Z. That is a GREAT score man
The prescotts arent bad when you OC them and are great CPUs for encoding and decoding video and audio, they just run too damn hot. id dread to even see these temps on air. and im over 60c as is on water !! (at 1.5volts)
Wow, sounds like it would give a Vapo a run for its money lol.
some dude hit over 5ghz on mach ii with a prescott.
Simply SICK is all I'll say to that
Well if everything goes right.. and i get the contract to build half a dozen or more highend computers..... and i get the cash to build a $10,000 dollar rig... i would hope it will be monster.... i've already priced out a few things.... I'm trying to get ahold of the Kyrotek makers... for a case... (-198*C here i come if i can get one).... also... how does 8 Sata Raptors in raid sound? overkill? maybe.... but i should be able to encode movies without waiting for the HD.... Dual Opterum... 4GB of ram.... the thing is gonna be a bastard of a pig....
Definitely sounds impressive but its also definitely overkill Just build yourself a rig with the fastest parts out at the time and you should be good. No reason for -198c hehe. But I wish you the best of luck with your business man, may you get twice the orders you want
i'm but one man..... i'll do my best... thanks.. .as for overkill.. i doubt it... as if i get the kyrotek case.... it'll last years..... sealed for even -40 cool over then entire internal parts.... and then -198*C on 2 cpu's... the vid card.. the north and south bridges... and there may even be ways to cool the ram a good amount....
Shit....I can beat that system with my Intel PII 450 and my 4 GB ATA 66 HD....and 32mb of RAM..damn dude......I thought you were going to build a REAL system??
hey.. my little P2 400 with 256mb of ram and 20gb ATA100 is the master of all... except one other..
My 486 90mhz oced to 120mhz... with 70-80mb of ram... 7.5gb hardrive... and a S3 relic verge onboard with 128kb of video memory... running windows XP PRO SP2 RC1 will beat the living crap outa anyone else rig.. i mean.. who can beat 12 3dmarks in 3dmark 99 (MAX)
haha we watercooled a p2 233 and got it to boot at 450...that was fun...it was hardly stable though
i poped a 133mhz P1 into a computer that alound the FSB of 100mhz and multiplier of 5.... i blew the sucker up ...but it was fun loading crap up for awhile.. (it was -40*C at the time)
why the ^$@^% dont you build a few super computers judas, do your empoyers want to say they have the fastest or what?
the computer i'm talking about will most likely be mine.. and if my buddy ends up getting a nice check from 3 months of tree planting.. he might get one to...
As for the employers... uh... BK? they don't care about computers
my costumers... well... if i can land a contract.... they'll be getting some pretty decent computers... not exactly super computers... but they want some do some pretty memory intensive tasks.... so min memory right now is 1gb and the lowest cpu speed will probably be 2ghz (amd cpu's as they don't want to spend to much)
Right now.. i can pick up a few barton 2800+'s for extremely cheap..... and i may tinker with the FSB and Multipliers to give them the best results....
"I hit just over 5100 with my system. maybe could get a little more from it, but im not an overclocking freak, im happy the way games play." -- Zardon, Feb 2004.
I was just browsing around and saw that after reading this thread..Heh, lucky you.
Maybe it's just not my thing but setting these "records" on PCs that are laying scattered in several pieces submerged in bathtubs and the such don't impress me.
