    HPhSp + SB Live

First, thank you for the fine drivers that are improving rapidly!

I managed to make SB Live Value (yes, it's that old) run HPhSp...
    I added the recommended Summs.
Clean setup with only FXBus/xrouting/HPhSp/k1lt uses 252 GRPs.

For recording you can use some Src plugins.
(don't forget to unmute AC97 recording - Gain at AC97 recording tab.
I forgot once about this and wondered why the microphone wasn't working  )

    Screen (120Kb, PNG)
The setup I'm using requires 261/256 GPRs. But it works just fine.
Hint for those who try to use it: k1lt by is not swapped by default, check its preferences.

Now I have a question: what are the in8 and in9 on the HPhSp?
I guessed they stand for top and lfe. (in that order)
    Am I correct?

Ok, I think what most people are asking for here is not necessarily the plugin (since it's now included in latest build). But the readme.txt and screenshots. Is there anyway a new zip can be made of just the readme and screenshots and reposted to this thread?

I can mostly figure it out, but my one question so far is... after connecting the appropriate directional links to the HPhSp I'm wondering about where the additional outs from surrounder go? There's only 2 on the HPhSp and 6 on Surrounder. Do I just link the 2 from the HPhSp to where the respective surrounder links linked too? And keep the remaining surrounder links untouched? Would be much easier if we had those readme and pics still available. :)

you link the two outputs of the hphsp to the "headphones r/l" or "front l/r" connectors on the epilog, mouse over the connectors for their name

ok, i gotcha there... so we leave the surrounder as is? conneted to the EQ and epilog? or does the HPhSp replace the surrounder?

I have an SB0240 10k2 and get the same error in 3538a:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Ben>kxctrl -ghw 18
    kX Driver Control Program
Copyright ⌐ Eugene Gavrilov, 2001-2004. All rights reserved.
    Error getting HW parameter

    C:\Documents and Settings\Ben>kxctrl -shw 18 4
    kX Driver Control Program
Copyright ⌐ Eugene Gavrilov, 2001-2004. All rights reserved.
    Error setting HW parameter

I guess it's broken in 3538a. The plugin itself works, but 3D sound doesn't sound "spatialized" - it just sounds like the inputs are simply getting mixed together without any processing.

Just an update: In 3538h I still get the previously mentioned error. Also, inputs connected to in8 and in9 still don't seem to be mixed into the output (and as far as I can tell from the Dane source dump, they're aren't even used anywhere and should probably be removed).

shw 18 is no longer used
you should use kxctrl -shw 20
    the parameters currently available are:
    kxctrl -shw 20 1
    [turns on 8-point surround]

this option is turned on automatically by Surrounder+ when in 7- and 6- speaker mode. Surrounder+ does not support headphones preset (yet).

after you turn this feature on, you will see complete 8-ps-enabled speaker test applet

I'm trying to set this up and it all works smoothly, all the channels work, the effect is wonderful and using rightmark 3dsound position accuracy test i hear it just like it should be...

Except the north (center) channel isn't there. It stopped working when i ran "kxctrl -shw 18 4"
I'm using the 3537 release drivers on an audigy 2 zs. What could have gone wrong? Should i upgrade and is it safe to do so?

EDIT: Nvm, got it working. It appears the sound comes from the kx wave 4/5/6/7/8/9 outputs rather than the ac3-surround ones. I had routed each differently.

But that leaves me with the problem that it is impossible to use these additional wave devices without getting sound from 3d games on them...

After picking up a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, I've been trying to get the HpSp+ set up properly on 7x64 with the 3550 drivers.
I've reset all settings to default, to start with a fresh slate.
I've enabled 7.1 mode (Verified by number of speakers on non-functional Speaker Test screen)

Following the references in this thread, as well as http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-discussion/144567-configuration-headphones-games.html, I'm still a bit lost.

I'm using Microsoft's 8-channel test files (Located here)

First of all, all of the useful DSP images have expired here, so it's like reading half a conversation.
Second, default channel routing (Which I can't seem to change) is a bit odd.
In 7.1 with output set to Master, watching 2x Mixy 8x2 connected to a FXBusX:

2/3 (Stereo L AND Front Left AND Side Left) (Stereo R AND Front Right AND Side Right)
    4/5 (Rear Left) (Rear Right)
    6/7 (Center) (Subwoofer)

Well, apparently Stereo L and Side Left (And right equivalents) are mixed and passed to Side Left/Side Right on HpSp+, ok. That's easy, it's already done.
Except I can't pass NW/NE to HpSp+. And, since the speaker test doesn't work, I can't figure out which bus Rear is supposed to be on.

    Code:
    2 6 3
     \ /
      \ /
    2--7--3
      / \
     / \
    4 ? 5
I'm probably missing something horribly obvious, but that's why I'm here. If it was complex, I'd have figured it out
