I would just like to pass a point of appreciation for your work another step forward for the KX project..great.
hehe, thats ok, hopefully it will remind any other people who might have used similair workarounds to double check thier speaker connections.
Yes!! Full respecta' for the kX krew!! We use an EMU-1212M as well [with original drivers], but kX's flexibility is simply unbeatable!!
Problem using new 3538i release I used the old 3537 and the 3538 betas: were a must on my audigy2! But now with the 3538i release i can get only static noise! :sigh: I reinstalled old 3538h and all sounds fine. Can anyone help me to find what is wrong? kX see my sound card as SB0240 10k2 F440. Thanks, Piovrauz
read carefully - there IS a topic about 3538i bugs&problems - located here: http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=80308
Hm there are still problems with D3D audio in some games, that use 3D sound, and hardware mixing. Voices not played correctly, or fully gone. Eventually they are played without propper volume level - driver plays everything that it can on max level :> But i'm not writing it as a complainment. I know that kX are made for musicians mostly, and i've used it to record some tracks, and they work awesome this way. I just want to ask you, Eugene is there any chance, that you'll look into this part of kX which is responsible for 3D sound. Maybe it's not a big problem, and just a matter of a quick fix? Well, if not - let it be, 24/96 is a better problem to fix ;-) After all, thanks for great set of drivers, they rock!
@ ReWired @ ReWired Sorry, I was sure that I was replying to the "bug report" topic, I surely make a mistake. Piovrauz
It's great to see a new version of the kX project. Even if I won't be using the kX driver on my A2ZS just yet, I would not be surprised if I will do so in the future.
I haven't treid the release yet, Was curious if there is any improvment in sound quality? or does this release fix issues etc...
C'mon be reasonable. Your putting your own whims infront of the bigger picture here. Yes, kX is predominantly for music-making purposes, but I think its pretty fair that Eugene addressed pre-existing compatibility issues before adding new features. kX is free software, it isnt a commercial product- what makes you think you have priority over its development?
Is this 3538i standalone or do i have to install older pre 3538i versions? Also is there any fix regarding that beeping bug on some Live! cards? Thx
Ok,installed it and so far so good. I'll report back if i'll encounter beeping bug again... Only thing i noticed is that 3DSE effects aren't noticeable in games (CounterStrike:Source if i'm specific). With older 3538 on High 3DSE i could actually hear each empty bullet shell falling on concrete with very cool metal sound. AK-47 also sounded incredibly. But now i can't notice any difference. Anyway i'll try out a bit more and report if i found anything.
If you still miss high-quality 24/96 ASIO support, but don't want to abandon the kX drivers, there IS a temporary solution until Eugene completes and includes that feature in the 3538 Final release (NOTE: it will be playback only, don't think you will be able to RECORD in 24/96 with kX ASIO,it will take much longer to implement that after the playback support is done). So,the solution is to install the ASIO4ALL drivers from http://www.asio4all.com Get version 2.6 and install it.Works with kX drivers together.Enables 24/48 and 24/96 playback AND recording with all of your Audigy2 and E-MU cards capable of 24/96. Just note: the ASIO performance is not very good as you used to get with kX ASIO. Luckily, you can set it to use 4 SOFTWARE buffers, use 24/48 mode (it's 32/48 actually) and get the high-quality sound you ever wanted. It's really good for playback,if you set latency to a high level, like 1024 or 2048 buffers. For music production, you can get up to 5ms latency at most (ahhh,I miss those 0.6ms with kX,lol) Try it and use it until the next version of kX is released. You got nothing to lose
Well, it seems that we have a perfect solution. I hope that it will satisfy everyone untill 24/96 implementation in kX is done. Peace ;-)
