replacing the kx.sys with an earlier version reverts the driver version to the version of the kx.sys file it should be safe with 3538, but if you replace the k.sys with a version that doesn't work well with the mixer app - you could cause some serious issues
Hello all, I am using 3538i with no real problems, except for high CPU sometimes. I tried every M switch (0,1,2,3,4,5) and have different outcomes. Used M3 for long time, sounded a bit better, but very high CPU. M0 is Ok, but a bit dull in sound. Still have glichtes. As there are a lot of things to be set in the menu, could anybody explain a little bit what the foolowing options mean/do: -The whole ASIO M (0-5) options, what are the options do? -Driver compatibily chart options, same question! Of course it would be interesting to know all options. If there is a thread that I missed I apologize and ask kindly to refer me. I have searched but nit found! Regards and thanks for the great work sofar! My system: ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe - 3.2G HT activated - 1G RAM - Matrox Parhelia 4XAGP - Lots of Maxtor Diamond 10 drives. SATA and RAID - DVD NEC 3520A - AUDIGY Platinum SB 0090.
Hello, I'm working with a Shuttle SD 31P This one has Audio Creative Soundblaster Live 24 bit on the motherboard. There is a Audio Creative P17 soundchip. System info tells this chip uses a PCI channel. The KX drivers 37 and 38i cannot succesfully be installed. Not via the install.exe nor manual in safe mode. Will the KX project support this kind of cards? The current latency is a dissaster
kX Does not support the SB Live! 24 bit as it does not use the EMU10k1/k2 chip. Also, I seem to remember reading here in the forum, that there has never been any EMU10k1/k2 based onboard sound, and thus no kX support for any onboard sound.
Indeed During the install procedure two or three drivers for integrated soundboards were mentioned in the driverslist (M003 or something like that). I think KX cann't be of help in this case. The Shuttle has two PCI-E sockets. One carries the graphic card PCI-E 16X. Soundcards for PCI-E 1x slot do not exist(yet) and will probable not come because PCI-E is not so fit for transfer of sounddata. An external Firewire or USB 2 card is probably the only alternative.
They exist : http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=8368&highlight=SB0240 Some are marked as "Motherboard Model" or "Model M002/M003".
Again, that was just something I had read in the forum. The main issue for kX compatibility is the EMU10k1/k2 chip, so that would be the first thing to look for.
For one thing, Eugene posted a message about that in the forum giving people a chance to express there opinion about it, and not very many Windows 98 users responded. Aside from that Win98 users can still use previous kX versions.
It's lucky I checked here..... Just a note to anyone who might be in charge of the website, eugene or others. I checked out the website just to see if the project was still live earlier this year. There hadn't been any news posted since 2004 at that time. I checked just now, and the website hadn't changed. I checked here just to see if anything might be going on, and I was surprised (and pleased) to discover that Eugene has released a driver update. If possible, can the website be kept up to date with what's happening here? It's a role I would be happy to assist with. It's important to keep the public face of the project up to date so that potential users know it's still being worked on. Robert.
When is the support for all the channels of the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value ( sb400 ) coming? I need it for an test with an music computer :$ Thanks in advance!
