I have two hd drives. One is 160 gig seagate sata the other a 120 gig seagate sata drive. I have downloaded a tweaking program that lets you enable 48 bit support for HD's. Should I enable this feature or leave it alone. I have downloaded the latest intel chipset drivers for my intel 865pe chipset. What would you guys recommend?

This site should answer all your questions about 48-bit LBA:
    http://www.48bitlba.com/

In a nutshell, since you have a HDD with a capacity over 137GB, you need to use 48-bit LBA. Note that if you have Windows XP, you'll need to have SP1 or later installed. If you've got Windows 2000, you'll need SP2 or later installed. 48-bit LBA support is not officially supported in Windows 9x and ME

Have a look at the HDINFO tool here:
    http://www.48bitlba.com/hdinfo.htm
it will tell you if you have any issues with 48-bit LBA support on your system

If you don't have XP SP1 or 2000 SP2, you'll need to fiddle with the registry (although it's not recommended). You can find the article about the needed registry settings in XP pre-SP1 here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303013
    and for 2000 pre-SP2 here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305098

    Also, this blog seems interesting:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/smakofsky/archive/2004/09/14/229342.aspx
This guy claims that he had SP2 installed, yet he needed to have the registry key detailed in the 2 microsoft articles changed as well

    Edit: Updated info and links
