I have a radeon 9500 pro video card and everytime I install omegas it has a option for softmod. I read a little on this and it said if you have working pipelines you won't have artifacts. I am wanting to do this but I don't want to shorten the life of my video card. Is this saying that if you have the extra pipelines it won't be hurting it? is there a way to find out if I do have them? edit: It seems that since I have a 9500pro, I can't softmod it. Is this true?
im afraid its only for 9500 non pros. 9500 pros have 8 pipelines, 9500 non pros have 8 but only 4 work as the other 4 are turned off. the omegas allow 9500 non pro users to 'unlock' the extra pipelines. so since you have a 9500 pro it will have no effect at all
