Well, let us know what occurred, due to the fact that we all learn from our individual mishaps! Lord only knows I do, and we all will till the day we croak ! Im just waiting for some new thermal pads before re-installing mine, and this time around, no mistakes hopefully ! My e-mail is rjfalks@aol.com
Send the digital pic to OcSystems and ask their tech dept. or call them on the phone. I think their is a guy named Stan that is pretty helpful that works in technical support. He mods the cards for them for retail sales.
Well I already posted them, but here they are again: Core/Mem = 385/702, 3DMark2k3 = 5408 I'll try later and see actually how much more can I get, I kind of stoped at this clock last month and havent really tryed more.
Euphoria, those are excellent speeds and a good score for your system specs. I would be more than satisfied with your results.
Dom, what I meant was send them the same pic you posted on this forum a few threads back, and then call them or e-mail OCsystems and ask to talk with tech support about your concerns of the card.
Pato, Out of sheer curiosity, in American dollars, what would the shipping cost be for a package that weighs less than a pound to Switzerland!
I took-off the fan that came with that cooler from OCSystems and replaced it with a Termaltake Blue Orb, ain't that sweet?
Now if you only had a digital camera, you could show all of the guys on the forum what it looks like! Just kidding. I bet it looks cool and a very nice idea. Dom, have you OCed the card any yet? And did you ever find out what the device was you accidently popped off and then replaced?
Sorry guys, should of updated you on that. Well, I was able to send it back to ATi for repair, I should be getting it back soon.
Thats good news! I went the same route, and it only took about a 5 business day turnaround once ATI receives the card. They sent me back a new 9700pro card, the second rev. 11 They claimed they found nothing wrong with my original card, but sent a new one anyway. Peace of mind in your case, is well worth the wait.
Well, I hope if you do OC the 9500pro till it drops or lets say frys, and you decide to RMA it back to ATI, that the memory is fried also and not just the core. Dont know for sure, but if they only replace the core, and then bench the card, they may be able to see your last clock speeds! Good Luck and have fun !
BWX232, your probably right, they most likely just chunk em in a 55 gal. barrel, and have a third party vendor do the repair and he re-sells the cards! They did send me a report saying they checked my original card on the bench, though the letter may have been just B.S. or public relations.
