What is your personal highlight when it comes to finding the perfect location in a video game?
Personally my 2 favourites are the island location in Far Cry 3 and London in Assassins Creed Syndicate
Far Cry island was just jaw droopingly gorgeous back then the green vegetation looked awesome and the sea was so well done it was just beautiful
Syndicate was great as London is my favourite holiday destination and it was huge fun going "been there and there and there" and then a year later going back to London and going "climbed that and that and that killed an enforcer right there ,,,jumped off that etc"
I have to say that I liked Night City a lot. And previously many cities from the Assassin's Creed series (and like Mr Cairo said, it was interesting going to Florence, San Gimignano and other Italian cities and towns having played AC II). I guess I'm a city guy.
You know.... Casino in Sonic 2 was always nothing but a riot in two player split screen battle mode.
Sailing the open skies in Skies of Arcadia. I like generally cruising in open areas like in Cyberpunk, Need for Speed and similar areas like that but Skies of Arcadia stands out in my mind.
I'm also eager to roam around in Sonic Frontiers when it comes out.
One of my favourite places in gaming has to be Columbia in Bioshock Infinite - such a fantastical place. I especially like Soldier's Field amusement park as at the point you arrive there is a fabulous evening light.
Another more recent example is the city of Lorville in Star Citizen. I recently had cause to have to walk to the gates on the city from the outskirts and as doing so realised just how enormous the place is. Watching the evening sun filtering through the clouds and ships lifting off from the spaceport was pretty cool.
Yeah Columbia and of course Rapture are 2 stunning locations.
