Heads up for those using the Flash player. They have just released a beta for iteration 14.

I had an issue where Flash video would hitch on my system. Windows 8.1 with Intel HD4000 graphics. Video would freeze for a second then continue whilst the audio playback was unaffected. I found that if I set the instance of the Flash player in Task Manager to run on one core that the problem would go away.

This new Flash Player seems to have solved the issue for me.

My mistake. Video still hitches. Although it seems to work OK sometimes and then the behaviour will start. Switching to one core does eliminate the issue.

Anyone else having this problem. I'd like to discover if this is a Win8.1 thing or an Intel HD4000 thing or just a general Flash thing.

yeah flash has been doing some weird hitching for me since halfway through version 13

And it's crashed entirely for a number of people on certain flash based games.

I'm thinking something to do with Win 8 then, pretty sure I didn't have this behaviour on 7.

actually I noticed it first on some machines with windows 7......

windows 8 in IE doesn't seem to be effected .... mostly due to the fact that Microsoft controls the updates..... no hitching there.. BUT in other browsers in windows 8 similar symptoms to windows 7.

I prefer to only install full versions of programs and drivers as well as firmware.
