your 100% positive of that... even though i just stated that one of the complaints about bulldozer was it's well below performance results in windows 7 due to the way it is being handled that is WELL below what it should be able to at least produce for performance in those situations...

Anything that actually uses a processor correctly would have impacts that even the simpliest of tasks could surprise.

Again i say... until we have some legitimate results... it's all talk and no real true results from a windows 8 installation.

Indeed, my theorising is based on logical inference rather than empirical testing, but we do have benchmarks for Win7 vs. Win7 BD hotfix, and they showed no statistically significant performance difference in single threaded or many-many threaded tasks.

yeah the BD hotfix just disabled numerous features because of the way windows 7 is... By completely disabling the capabilities.. the performance was "slightly" improved (less hanging and less problems likes BSODs and crap)...

windows 8 is sapposed to have all those features enabled and propperly working...

Even AMD's own guys are saying don't expect any improvement from Windows 8 versus a properly-patched Windows 7 machine..

windows 7 isn't properly patched.. it's properly "fixed" so it's not totally unuseable ... properly patched would mean they actually did what was necessary so the entire cpu is used properly, not gutted.

As is entirely obvious from the context, by "properly-patched", malmental means fully up to date.

Clock 4 Clock performance. The FX-8350 stands firm.

Just a note that we used Win 8 for this article (as we will be for every one from now on). As for other suggestions of dual CPU boards etc. Will see what can be arranged but that is very dependant on what can be sampled.

Bulldozer of course. It just shows that AMD is improving. :)

That the 8350 standing firm against the 8150 is worthy of note only shows how debatable the "upgrade" to 8150 from 1100T was.

I'm looking at all these benches and AMD users just might have an upgrade now with Piledriver/Vishera.
this is what Bulldozer should have been and maybe I wouldn't have rid myself of all AMD hardware.
I'm sill happy with the all Intel line-up I have now and easier on my swapping parts.

I have to go back and look again but how is the power consumption now with Vishera.?

The 8350 is a better upgrade vs. the 1100T. The only issue I have with the 1100T is it's old.

I didn't deny that. I only wished to point out that it should not be a point of pride that the 8350 "stands firm" against its direct predecessor.

Well if it did not, AMD would be in trouble. Regarding the 1100T, both are completely different designs. AMD needs to compete on Price/Performance to justify an upgrade. But either way most benchmarks show the FX -8350 outperforms it. Clock for clock is meaningless at this point.
