AMD has posted better than expected third quarter results today. Although the company did detail a loss, it was a lot less than analysts expected. The loss, at 18 cents a share, compares with a loss of $134 million, or 22 cents a share, for the same period last year. Analysts had expected a loss of 42 cents a share. Revenue was $1.4 billion, an 18 percent increase over the second quarter of this year, while falling 22 percent compared to the third quarter of 2008. Forecasts had called for only $1.3 billion in revenue. With the financial help of Apple AMD's situation is a lot more positive than many expected last month.
i keep hearing of AMD having continuous losses. and, IIRC, that's the reason why AMD went to become a fab-less company, right?
I love AMD, they post a loss, "it's just a flesh wound" They'll never go bankrupt, Invesotr swill lose money here to keep Intel in check imo.
