    Hi,
I want to buy a laptop with AMD Radeon HD 7670M.
Can anyone tell me about support of this card in Linux?
What about work of Catalysts with this Card in Linux?

Please reply me as fast as possible.

    Ubuntu 11.10

    Take Care,
    Jacob

I don't know specifically about this model.
But by experience I can assure that you will never have an full performance with ATI on Linux. I am waiting since Nov. 2011 for an fix for their proprietor drivers that conflict with Gnome Shell and Xorg (all last gnome desktop distros).
I'm using the open source ones, and they also don't are good, they are just better than the proprietor ones right now. I recomend nVidia, would be an better choice if you want optimal 3d experience on Linux and play games using WineHQ, and they also seems to care more about their Linux customers.
I don't know how the ATI proprietor drivers behave on, KDE, LXDE or Xfce. An good think to do is to take an read on Unbuntu and other distros forums and see if have complaints about your card model and the desktop you gonna use.I am a Fedora user and theres lot of complaints and unsolved issues to ATI users at Fedora Community, I believe that at Unbuntu community is no different.
