AMD releases Athlon MP 2100+

    AMD today launched a multiprocessor version of the Athlon 2100+. It costs $262 when you buy 1,000 units and 34 OEMs are coming to market with servers based on the chip.

    The CPU is socket A compatible and is supported by the AMD 760MPX chipset, which is incorporated into plenty of mobos.

    aiming for low end servers, a threat for dual Xeons? emmm, lets hope so, competition is always healthy
