Check it out at www.futuremark.com
isn't that the airship from ff9?
Sigh here we go again... all our machines will get 2,XXX points in 3DMark 05 (mine won't even break 1,000).
I remember the good ol' days of Madonion.com -- what ever happened...
if we follow the pattern of 2001se to 03, we know that if you score around 7000 marks in one you will get around 2000 in the other.:bleh:
so hopefully what this one will do is improve the overall use of the benchmark. meaning that it will take into consideration every little thing and really rank the cards where they stand.
and after that happens the tooth fairy and Mrs. Clause will run away together.
but at least the program will give us some new eye candy
mmmmm can't wait to test that out with my brand new gt
Does anyone know when it will be released? Is it going to be like this month or within this year?
more proof that me and 05 won't get along well at all :annoyed:
maybe this'll break me though and talk me into an x800
Apparently 3d05 will be for dx9 graphics cards only won't it?
So many folks won't even get a look in further than the main menu.
How come 3dmark01 took 3 years to update (excuse was because fm were waiting for directx update) but 3dmark05 couldn't even wait for dx10???
Because Futuremark got scared of people breaking 15k this early. They needed another benchmark to show you all how obsolete your hardware is. :tears:
Damn Futuremark, I miss Madonion.
Well i believe the decision to produce 3Dmark05 was based on the need for a true DX9 benchmark with the way games are heading. More and more uses have DX( capable DX9 hardware now and 3Dmark has always been a DX8 benchmark essentially (only 1 test was DX9, two DX8 and 1 DX7) and so a DX9 was an obvious choice.
FM aim to provide benchmarks aimed not at todays games but games of the future, it's now getting to the stage where the features and level of detail used in 03 is being seen in games today, so i think they judged the need for a new bench pretty well. DX10 is a long way off yet really and if they had waited for that then they wouldn't be full-filling the criteria in a bench that they aim for, as a future gamers benchmark.
I think there's enough new technology starting to make its way through now for them to warrant a new bench to show how this tech can be used for future games, i'm all for it i like to get a climpse of what we could expect from games in a year or two's time.
wow that looks cool... gonna stress my card big time tho
Well I can understand that point of view. For me personally I've just had a bad impression from Futuremark ever since the change over from Madonion and 3DMark 03. They don't seem like the same company anymore, now it's more about sponsorships and a much more corporate attitude. At least that's my impression. I usually don't like to jump on band wagons but like a lot of people I was really pushed away from 3DMark 03.
05 is, in my book anyways, futuremark's not so subtle way of tellign aquamark to shove it, nothign more. Yes, it'll send people to the stores to get new cards, which in turn will cause PC vendors to see mroe $$, but that just means more licensing for futuremark and less for aquamark.....those bastards
in futuremark site show a countdown numbers about the release ...
does anyone know to calculate the nambers to tell us
and about the letters in countdown before had the letter O now W
some people say about "own" or "owned" .....
Separate names with a comma.
