All of my MP3 files are now showing as a blank square at the front of each file.

I recall going through this issue years ago in order to get Windows to play MP3 files. AND, all of my MP3 music was playing just a fine a few days ago.

The question now is: Which is the best Codec pack to install to get the issue resolved this time?

    DON'T INSTALL CODEC PACKS... period....

please for the love of gaud.

Simply right click on the mp3 files and click open with, then click other (even if the player of choice is listed, don't click on it)... then in the new window, select the application and then make sure to check the "open with this app for all these file types)
