Norton AV 2003, because it does the job. I leave the autoprotect off and just manually scan anything I download off the net.

I used Norton, but it hasn't killed any virous for me yet. Maybe the reason is that I didn't use the latest version.

I find you sadly mistaken as the most of you. First off may I say I used to use Norton, found it blew, and went to mcafee when I was still a n00b. Then AVG bit me in the arse and never let go, the best Anti-Virus IMO and many others. PC World even rated it damn near close to the top...only ease of use being a hiderance (note it was the free ver. which requires a whole PC scan...and who cares?). Note that Maximum PC also discovered this jewel a bit later, giving it a 9/10 while Norton recieved 7/10, and Mcafee recieving 6/10. They said that nothing compared to it, being free and catching the majority of viruses store bought software could not.

Last and not least, it has the highest rating on download.com under the search Anti-Virus.

As for a Firewall, I use Sygate as it's very configurable and at the price of free and no problems yet I have yet to pay for security.

I also use AVG. For the others who use it, did you get the email saying they'll stop supporting avg 6.0 free edition? I emailed them asking if there would still be a free product and they said yes, the free edition of AVG will be upgraded to AVG 7. So yay for us!

And to everyone using antivirus that's costs money, was stolen, or is bloated, I say BWAHAHAHAH

Used to use Norton 2003, then 2004, then 2005 (all pro's) and saw my system running slower and slower. 2003 was the least hassle to use but the trouble with Norton is that it tends to leave files scattered everywhere.

I did some research and found that NOD32 was highly recommended. I now use it and its great.
