It seems that Apple has gone on a banning spree, cutting off access to the iTunes App Store to iPhone hackers.

Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer who successfully hacked the iPhone OS 3.1.3 and unlocked the 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and 3G devices discovered he’d been cut off earlier today.

Considering there's probably a cornucopia of other methods to install applications banning a couple of hackers is really gonna make the universe of difference.

It's an interesting technique. They can obviously detect both hack methods and they demonstrate this by banning the authors. They could have just banned everyone using the hack but it seems like they're first trying a precision strike as a warning.
