Are really going be any new Sub level $250 direct x 11 cards?

I don't know about the new Nvidia cards, but you should be able to get a 5770 for about 170 dollars.(ignore this, for some reason I thought you were getting a single 5770 for 340.)

Btw, I noticed the current video card in your system specs is AGP. All new video cards are going to be PCI Express.

 

According to rumors GF104 cards (256 shaders/64 TMUs/384 bit) should hit market in June.

 

It's usually the higher end single gpu models that come out first, then the others later on. It depends on whether you are willing to wait for them.

 

I'm 100% positive that nVidia will come out with a lower-cost GPUs for the masses.
After all, the market is not based on the High-End GPUs...
Just be a little patient and you'll have the possibility of choosing nVidia or ATI.
A.T.M, you can only choost ATI, they are the only ones that fit your request.

 

I,m really impressed with my msi 5770 but i should of gotten the hawk or with better cooling ...at 60 percent and up they get a bit noisy as the dual fan ones are quiet.
Ive been looking for better cooling but its a bit expensive.

Nvidia is just a little slower than ATI releasing their low priced cards. but they are gonna come, you just have to wait a little

 

They have offerings of their own now, it's just those posts are more than a few months old.

 

All the 460s are sub $250 on newegg right now.You can even get a 470 for around $250 right now.

most recently, it appears the AMD/ATi HD6000 series just outdone the current GTX 460/470 cards at the same price points...

however if one does alot of HD content playing, an nvidia card is better with CUDA...

I was trying to remember why I havent been here in a while and I just remembered.Driverheaven turned into the RED camp.

 

I'd disagree - the AMD 6000 series so far is looking lackluster. It's just re-engineered 5800 series cards, with an inane naming scheme. I think the 6870 is much more worthwhile than the 470, but I still think the 460 trumps the 6850. In most benches, the 6850 and 460 are very close - but the 460s scale far better than the 6850s in dual-gpu set-ups, giving the 460 the lead (and yes, both are about evenly priced right now).

Also keep in mind that the ATI 3D vision is not what you would call "functional," and nVidia tends to have less troublesome drivers

I do think that the ATI name changing stuff at the minute is a bit odd, but not outrageous. I would like to see the much anticipated GTX580 named the GTX490, though - I think Nvidia could regain a lot of respect through a move like that.

 

Well, the issue is is (from my understanding) that the GTX 580 is a new architecture (GF108) while the 400 series is GF100 and GF104. IMO, the GF108 should be released either entirely in the 400 series or 500 series, but not across both.

I'm still waiting to see a fully-unlocked GF104 core, and possibly see a 485 or 495 with two 460s built in.

 

I don't think Nvidia could bring themselves to release a dual GPU card slower than AMD's.

I'd like to see GF108 released as GTX490 and the full GF104 released as GTX475 or 465+, depending on how it performed. Please read this Nvidia
