    144hz.....

so 6x 24hz/fps (movies or most video content released today)

I guess this would be most ideal for the newer films such as the soon to be released The Hobbit, as 120hz monitors won't have a nice even number to work with for playing back 48fps/hz film... 2.5x.... vs 144hz is a nice 3x

Pulldown issues perhaps.. although i doubt it's much of a problem.

Still.... How bout before we start bumping up the refresh rates over 120hz.... that we instead bump the damn resolutions up.

Agreed, we need higher res with at least 100hz. Too many of those large resolution monitors are limited to 60hz that's not going to cut it for FPS gaming I think 100hz is enough plus that's an achievable framerate whereas good luck getting 144fps in BF3 on Ultra settings never gonna happen with this generation of video cards. I have a 120hz monitor and even with SLI I usually I can rarely get 120fps in BF3.

Agreed. I hate the 1080p deadlock. Hard to find 1200p these days. Availability of 1440p is better but costs a fortune, and 1600p is even worse.

Oh well, maybe when 4k TVs finally appear at large, we might see higher res monitors at last as well. Until then I'll keep my 1920x1200 26".

I'd want an IPS with something like 80-90 Hz. Should be doable already. Can't stand TN no matter how smooth it is, and I don't see people buying these for 3D movies anyway.
