haha wow i was just going to come here to make a thread on requesting Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Support (mine is AMD M880G w/ this card) yeah so i'm here saying that this card needs support on Mobility Modder. it is not necessary for you hard workers to do so if it does take al ot of effort in releasing a whole new version with only 1 more card support. but if you guys do it, we will all appreciate it! Thanks ! -joseph10444
I also have this card, running on Windows 7 64-bit. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could add support for it in the next release. the_guy

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum too. HP/Compaq will not update these drivers! I'm using a very old driver, I think 9.12 if even that! I want to be able to use the newest drivers. Here's my system specs and the report from dxdiag menu. Manufacturer: HP/Compaq Presario CQ61-313US Notebook OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS Processor: AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M300 2.00 GHz Installed Memory: 3.00 GHz (2.75 GHz usable) GFX: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip Type: ATI display adapter (0x9172) DAC Type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Approx. Total Memory: 1474 MB Current Display Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Please update asap! I've been waiting forever for Compaq to update their drivers and doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon! Please add support for this video card and chipset in MM! Thank You!
Hi all! I am new to this forum so I'll go straight to the point.. well I own an acer ASPIRE 4540 with AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200 IGP. I want to be part of the users team who ask for MM team's official support, these are the specs from system information: Name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series PNP Device ID: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9712&SUBSYS_027D1025&REV_00\4&259CF47E&0&2808 Adapter Type: ATI display adapter (0x9712), ATI Technologies Inc. compatible Adapter Description: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series Adapter RAM: 256.00 MB (268,435,456 bytes) INF File: oem14.inf (ati2mtag_RS880M section) Just for a note, I got the OEM's driver and once I got it installed, the display adapter was named 'AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200'; after that, I got it updated: I downloaded and installed the official and latest ATI's Catalyst Mobility version 10.5 and as a result the display adapter is now called ATI Mobility Radeon HD4200. However, I can see it's not the same as acer's drivers, even considering it is old.. I asked acer support team to update their drivers but considering that it is from december 2009 and so far nothing else has being made about it I don't think they are going to do anything about it. At all. That's why I'm here. --ADDITIONAL INFO Manufacturer: Acer ASPIRE Series - 4540 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS Processor: AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M300 2.00 GHz (socket s1g3) - CASPIAN Installed Memory: 4.00 GHz (3.75 GHz usable) Current Display Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz) Thank you in advance! All the best, Rodolfo.
Hey all, Just wanted to let everyone know there's a new driver package out today for this ATI card. Grab up the mobility one from ATI's site. It is Catalyst 10.7 This one seems to work flawlessly with the M880G ATI HD Radeon 4200 in my Presario CQ61. Please try it for yourselves. Just to be safe I'll include a link for Driver Sweeper to clean your old drivers out before you do that. Guru3D - Driver Sweeper Use that before you install any drivers. If you follow these instructions you should not have to wait on the new ati mobility modder to come out. Anyway keep up the good work hardwareheaven! Good Luck!
... as usual, the avivo stuff link takes you to a 'file not found' page http://www2.ati.com/drivers/10-7_mobility_vista_win7_32-64_xcode.exe I wonder if I need this one to make vlc 1.1.1 use minimum resources when it comes to playback HD videos. OR..maybe this is all Bull.... and it does not work out for notebooks, just desktops at all.
