Autoexec File Size Error

    i am running windows xp

    i have noticed that the size of my autoexec.bat and config.sys file is 0 bytes
    the msdos.sys has only one line in it ie " ;FORMAT "

    my pc boots normally then why r these files empty

    Windows XP doesn't work the same way as 95/98/ME. The Config.sys and autoexec.bat are generally always empty because anything that needs to be loaded for XP to work is done throught the registry and not these files. I don't know why you still have both files since I don't seem to have them (XP Corp / XP Home). I might just have a version that came without such files, but have you upgraded OS because that might be why the files are still there but are 0 bytes in size?
