Is anyone playing this game with an Audigy and KX drivers? I get stutters from the bots voice communicating and can´t remedy it with the in game settings.

Okay the only fix I have heard is running software but that is hardly a fix :(

Having the same problem, i.e. the music and the sound effects works fine but not the voices and I am not talking about the VoIP-voices but the pre-programmed voices. In software mode it works allright but it will probably take a heavy toll on the computer's (scarce) resources.
I am using the 3537 driver. Has anyone tried playing BF2 with the 3538h driver in Hardware-mode with a positive result?

Yes, that might be the case but the latest beta-drivers from Creative works very well. However, they are noticeably worse compared to the kx-drivers especially when a music score is being played. Not the crisp, clear sound that I am used to with the kx-drivers. But I am very much in to BF2 now so Creative's drivers will sit on my computer for some time.

That sounds promising. And you only need to install the beta not the other software that hose your system?

The music in BF 2 is very bad anyway so that I won´t miss much.

Well, I first installed and the drivers and software that are on the installation disc from Creative. But I only chose the software I wanted to be installed. Then I downloaded and installed the latest beta drivers.

Yes I to have this problem, it looks like no one has tried the 3538 drivers yet on BF2?

I love the clarity of the KX and never want to go back to Creative I did a few months ago and switched right back.

I tried installing only the openalbeta and that solved that problem. However I would loose the bass redirection feature and other stuff which made them suck at GTR so I reverted back

I am having the same issues with the stock Audigy's I havent tried the Betas but the latest are newer than the Betas and say they have support for native OpenAL but I guess we'll see if the EA can pull their Asshats off and get this game sorted

    directly from the kx faq:

Using software mixing works for BF2 and doesn't seem to use much resources on my computer (Athlon XP 1600+) since the game is perfectly playable (single player)

It doesn´t work with latest retail Audigy 2 drivers either ;)

That is just a disclaimer the kx driver works with all games better then Audigy 2 stock drivers really.

Changing the wave ouput device as suggested fixes this problem just fine :)

I think he means go to Windows Control panel and change Sound Playback default device to kX Wave 4/5 instead of kX Wave 0/1.

Yep, that's the one. It seems to do the job just fine. The bots chatter no longer crackles or is broken.

I installed 3537 (3538 has been removed from the kX site) on an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum yesterday because certain sounds were not being played occasionally, namely the vehicle guns. This also accompanied black screen mini-freezes in the game.

It's too early for me to tell if this issue has been remedied, but I must say that EAX, with full hardware sound, works great. I was standing next to some buildings in the game and a firefight on the other side was "reflecting" to my location. It was sublime.

EDIT: Music sounds amazing now! I use Tivoli Model Two speakers and the difference was shocking.
