So does that program not allow ppl to upload from you?
Well you can slow the uploads...but with BT it's about all being a good sport and sharing. Normally once I have finished downloading I'll let it go a few hours longer so others folks can get it.
Yeah man, you should really share with others since they are sharing with you, I can understand if it will cause legal problems or something- but I doubt uploading will cause any more problems than downloading.. I think with bittorrent if you don't allow upload, you can't download anyway- or not nearly as fast.
in some countries, like mine, downloading is allowed. But uploading, read spreading software etc, not
I was wondering about that- in that case I can say I'd do the same I suppose. I wouldn't want anyone breaking down my door if ya know what I mena.
Start your own P2P network with your friends... that is what my buddies and I did....
gotta love those people that get but wont give :grr:
Dude Krazy how the hell do you get waste to work lol.
uh... what problems are you having?? I can help you better if you let me know a little more about your set-up. My goup has been using WASTE now for 8 months.... The biggest thing is making sure everyone in your group is using the same port # and that you all have eachothers Public Keys. Other wise you will never connect to eachother....
Share if you download, its tight if you dont.
forget the law about sharing do it while you still can
it will only be a matter of time before big bussiness
stamps out all p2p, if there not getting payed for
something and they know people can get it,they will
endup sueing evry1 they can until its dead (including the end users in time even 4 software).
'trust worthy computing' LOL. beleive me these companies would use the moral standpoint
unless it was them at the other end in which case their lawyers whould still *uck us.
ive buycotted buying music cd's and films because of their actions.
I myself do not see the idea that downloading is stealing.
if you dont want to buy it dont, if you cant afford it.
the idea that when a file is copied a sale is lost is BS.
if you download something and use it a lot and its worth it
support the author by buying it.
if its not dont give them the money, i refuse to be bullied, threats do not bother me,they make
me more determined.
Last week I tried D++ Oodles of users, good community, even got dlowds of 100+KBytes/s/ great libraries/ not 1 virus..
Shareaza is the BEST P2P out. If you are having connection and speed problems, take a look at their forum, they have many tips that can help.

The reason for that is that most programs at least require you to share what you are downloading, I appreciate that we live in a culture where people think they should be able to get something for nothing but you have to understand that P2P networks exist solely to allow users to share files - not for some users to share/supply or otherwise do all the work while some users just sit there and take what they can when they can for no return.
It is common courtesy to give back to the community as much as you take from the community, think about your own physical community - how long would you put up with someone spomging your hard-earned cash off you before you decided you'd had enough and stopped giving it to them. The same will happen with the P2P networks if people take without any intention of giving back, people will stop sharing the stuff in the first place, so you won't get it anyway...
I don't know you personally, and I'm sure you wouldn't sponge off people in real life, but I know that if I see leechers in my Bittorrent client, their ip gets put on my banned list on the second or third time they do it (and only because the first time could be a genuine mistake).
If you're not prepared to share then find another way of getting what you want...even if it does mean paying for it!

I use burst so I don't even see people's IP's- I just set the upload limit to about half of my maximum (about 15kb/s), then I let it go-
I always start out slow, but end up with download speeds of aroung 150 to 170 kb/s- fast enough for me..
My max lately is only 360 kb/s anyway- so 170 is fine.
what you don't see...doesn't mean it isn't there
my firewall shows me all people in p2p programs that connect to me...also when the program itselfs doesn't show it
IP are always used...that is how p2p works
Uhh....duuhhh.. uhhhh....really???? shoot Vern, I learnted me sum-tin new ebry day.
Yeah - I know how it works, I simply stated that I don't see the IP's in Burst and that a set an overall limit..
I have firewall logs too- As well as peerguardian, etc, etc, etc.. . give me a little credit.
So whow do i find torrent files? How do i search for them? I use Emule but i dont get speeds like what u get and i have 1mb cable.
Where do i find these files and are the availability of the files like emule?
nice you knew it....but most of the people using p2p ....and just want music....really think their IP is not visible when they can't see it..
I think there's a way to spoof it- but i don't bother.
nope except anonym proxies...but they slow your download and upload down
