The driver file for intel is "processr.sys".
Anyone willing to post some results on the AMD driver in here? I am interested to know how this works and if there are any issues.
I will host the Intel driver tomorrow evening unless someone beats me to it. Time for me to go to bed.
Neon, this isn't such a crazy mod. I've seen crazier ones like 9800 XT bios flashing for 9800 pro's and 9800 SE's. Now that is crazy. :duh:
Yea, my AMD Athlon says "processr.sys".
I believe the P4 driver is called processr.sys in Win2K3, can't check it though since i don't have 2003 installed anymore
I will not make it available for d/l until someone knows for sure and tells me.
My P4 driver is processr.sys in XP....maybe the same driver does both
Jeez guys, I really doubt some new processor driver will increase performance, someone try and bench. If it does it will probably only be with 64 bit AMD stuff.
I gave this driver a shot and have been running it for the past day on windows XP with an AMD 2200. Performance seems fine but I haven't thoroughly ran any tests yet. My system has been stable so there has been no degredation from using a driver from Server 2003. My CPU temps are the same and the only game I've tried it with is an Open GL game called Savage which is heavily CPU dependant(at least on my system it uses 100%)and I SEEM to get almost 10 FPS more and my CPU utilization seems to drop more frequent then before. I'm also using a 9800 Pro. I would have to do more benching with a few more apps, perhaps with 3DMark to have something concrete. But as I said my system has been stable for the past day with no hiccups so I'm assuming this is safe to use. The driver version of this file is 5.2.3790.0 (srv03_rtm.030324-2048). I'll post back if I have anything new to add.
here's the processr.sys file for intel processors i pulled from windows server 2003, like been said before: i nor driverheaven will be responsible for any possible damage to you Operating system / Machine, use it at your own risk.
your link does not work.
Works fine from here
has anyone tried the intel one, for winXP?
does it work, if so ... improvement or no, and is it significant?
Still running stong here on my AMD 2200. I haven't ran any tests yet due to time restraints but things are as stable as can be.
if no one does in the next week i will... since i will be fresh installin around then... but plz some1 w/ the intel try it
I have a intel and will be trying in out all day and tommorrow see if its any good. Ok!
I just installed the AMD one a couple of hours ago...can't say I see a difference so far.
So...does this work or not?
It "works" but nobodys done any benchies yet so I'm not gonna use it until then.
Ok. It works.
I ran PCMark2004 and got a score of 3288 and then re-ran the test after installing the 2003 driver. Got a score of 3307 - not a huge difference and I'm not sure how much the margin of error is.
Hmm, can you run it a few times and see if you always get more then before?
Separate names with a comma.
