just a stick a 2tb samsung 970 evo plus in it... scrap the pci-ex 4.0 ssd.... and the 3.5inch drive.
Also i'd highly suggest you stick to say a sapphire pulse or nitro 5700 rather than asrock's...
and if you are indeed going with an amd system... the b550 will do plenty well enough, but personally i'd lean x570 anyways...
i'd however bump the memory to 3600mhz at that point... there are plenty of crucial 3600mhz modules in the 2x8 and 2x16 kit sizes that are very well priced.

also why was that monitor selected?

The RAM I will change to 3600Mhz.

    The monitor, for it's price.

As for the drive I intend to keep the PCIe 4.0 drive as we can afford the extra price.

I can also change the video card to a Sapphire RX5700XT.

Just realize that the only way to use that RAM at 3600mhz will be to overclock it.

Think I'm going to bail on this thread, btw, as it looks like everything is pretty much wrapped up (minus the minor tweaks). Good luck on the build, Cal.

again.... dual rank vs single rank... 4x sticks of single rank is a boost in performance... vs just 2.... however 2x dual rank modules gives the same boost.

this was seen on ryzen 3000
