Well, this picture out from the side of my house onto a 4pm sky sorta sums it up: No sun, just thick smoke and maybe some thin clouds at the top, and I'm a few dozen miles out from the actual fire. This afternoon the wind picked up and blanketed the area with the smoke, sun sorta disappeared and everything took on that orange hue.

The BC Fires were really bad this year, lots of fire... people lost homes . Got a lot of smoke here in town for quite a while, made for some extremely interesting sunsets.
Should've seen it on saturday here in Riverside. Looked like armageddon outside. The entire sky was a dark orange the entire day. Ash has been falling like mad since. I got about 18 pieces of ash in my eyes walking to and from class today...so awesome
I saw some pictures from Riverside, it was... disturbing. On Saturday here it was like snow with the ash - just kept falling down onto everything. I'm pretty sure that they haven't stopped it right now, since Tuesday afternoon they said it had gotten worse and threatened to break containment. Hm, a portent for our new governor?
Well here in LasVegas some 250 miles east, the winds kicked up and are skys look the same as Californias. Its smells like a big BBQ. Plus the dust is being kicked up so we have dusty stinky fog like weather here to. And for the people that are cought up in these big fires my heart goes out to you. God bless those brave Firefighters that are trying to SAVE what they can.
We took a trip to Death Valley(352 miles from the fires) yesterday and we could smell the smoke. A really good friend of mine lost his brother-in-law in the fire two days ago. He was a firefighter.:tears:
