What do you guys think of this game, its coming out for PC and was released on Xbox several months ago. It has elements of Resident Evil 4 and F.E.A.R in it.
LOL It isn't I can post some screens if you'd like, I believe there is another game in the series perhaps you saw that. The graphics are midway between PS2 and Xbox level on the PC version.
The game was supposed to come out for the pc a few yrs back. Kept getting pushed back. Even had some trouble finding a publisher. The graphics are dated.
Ya they are but I can attest that they don't distract from the gameplay on the PC version. Some of the scenes are carbon copies of F.E.A.R (blood spilling all over the place, hallucinations, disappearing girl) it might not look as good but it works incredibly well in the game.
Huh? I was only stating a little history of the game. Never said I won't play it. In fact, I was waiting on it since it was announced
Have you played Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones? Call of Cthulhu has graphics more or less on par with it, just slightly less detailed textures. Graphics only matter if they hurt the atmosphere of the game and in this case they do not.
So the game is based around world war II? Are they creatures are apart of the fictional nazi-war effort?
I think the game takes place in the 20's and I've played for a few hours and not seen those monsters. For most of it you'll be hunted by townsfolk who carry shotguns, tommy guns, and various pistols.
Graphics are dated unfortunately But as a Single player scenario experience is Great It's like a Action adventure rather than a FPS Reminds me something from Clyve Barkers Undying
I agree. Finally got it and played it a little yesterday. I am really enjoying so far. It takes getting used to having no interface, but that's a minor thing. I'm not familiar with Lovecraft's work, but the game certainly has me intrigued about it
Graphically the only real issue with this game is a bunch of ugly textures. Thats it. Everything else as far as graphical technology I feel is a cut above anything out there. Some may find the screen streaching and weaving distracting, but I think it adds great fun to the experience. It's more like your playing a real live person who is effected by things. He gets hurt, scared, and downright insane. I enjoyed the xbox version a few months back, but I bought the PC game anyway to encourage more of this kind of product. Sadly Head First productions went down the tube and the only reason we have a port is that the head engineer ported it for the most part himself out of a labour of love. This is what happens when you switch engines. Thank you Xbox for turning a three year dev time into a five year dev time and killing the company.
Yes, it does have some ugly textures, but as far as it being above anything out there, care to elaborate further?
Yeah, Undying came to my mind while playing this title. Graphics are just ok, it's all about the mood. Definitively a must have for a real terror addict
It's been on my list for some time so I'll just have to try it soon. Hope there's a lot of scary books/letters to read in-game.
