Removed it allready, I don't like it at all

See no reason why a control settings program has to go on the net for whatever reason..every time I use it, & also failing to see the need of a system hog like .net is.
and using more than 60k of memory all the time is way to much!! its a control panel !!

As stuart posted in the interview thread

"Network connections are opened because CCC's run-time (which could include 3rd party plug-ins), acts as the server component and provides the interface between the display driver and the client component, also known as the CATALYSTâ„¢ Control Center user-interface (which could be ATI only, 3rd party only, or a combination of both). This extremely flexible architecture requires the run-time and server components of the CATALYSTâ„¢ Control Center to communicate with one another via network messages. It is very important to note that all CATALYSTâ„¢ Control Center communications that use the .NET channels are "localhost" only, which means there is absolutely no connection to outside non-local systems. Unfortunately users may see warnings from various firewalls, as most firewall software is unable to differentiate between "localhost" and "outside" connections."

Ill tell you exactly my problem with it. When i first installed it, after first restart (after the fresh install) my screen became filled with lines for about a min, finally it went back to a black screen and then fixed itself (never seen anything like that before). It was wierd but thats not my problem with it, my problem is the size of the footprint. This thing has 4 executables in the background going. Plus i dont find it very user friendly. I will stick with the legacy control panel.

I'm having problems over riding refresh rates now. Desktop is at 100 Mhz but once I enter a game it goes back to 60 Hz. Been using reforce for a while with no problem until now. I've tried disabling reforce, putting all setting back to default, tried using the force option in the new CP, all with no success. Finally downloaded RefreshLock and that's working at the moment. Anybody else having issues with this?

uninstalled old drivers, driver cleaner, installed new.

i always do it that way and have never had problems like that until now, it was wierd but that really wasnt my problem with the CCC.

Pointless bloat...much like the overdrive and VPU recover features Dodd referred to whilst hyping what is essentially just a GUI change. It is a considerable size and yet adds absolutely nothing for the user with slightly more computer-competence than a monkey.

I wish ATi would start making progress on the major bugs outstanding, rather than often insignificant changes to benchmarks or obscure games which come with the caveat that driver updates may break as much as they fix.

    :sigh:
