    Alright all you brave beta driver test people. Can someone confirm if this works or not?

    Well, it doesn't work for me so far... (9800 Pro) Naturally the Shader Model 2.0b-Path doesn't work for me, but instancing should...it's just interesting that some sites stated that you need SM2.0b to get instancing while stating at the same time that R300+ boards also support instancing (but obviously no shader 2.0b)

    So I'm kinda :confused: right now...

    56k is mighty slow as hell lol once i have them i will do tests to see if both are enabled for my X800 Pro

    I can get the SM2.0b path to work which does boost performance on my X800XT but instancing does not work with these. I guess we will have to wait for the official 4.8 release for that. I even have Directx9.0c now and that didn't seem to make much of a difference in Far Cry anyway.

    I have instancing working... i think - i'lldouble check

    I toggled the following setting in the console on outside levels and took a noticeable frame rate hit. If instancing was working properly I thought the frame rates would stay about the same.

    \e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio 1"

    and then

    "\e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio 100"

    The tv-out + overscan = black bar issue is FINALLY fixed!

    There is no Geometry Instancing support for the R3xx series in these drivers guys.

    My log.txt shows:

    Geometry instancing: Not supported


    This is in addition to all necessary steps to enable Geometry Instancing. It's supposed to be enabled in the 8.041 drivers (we have the 8.04's).

    Correct, just found the same thing in my log.txt.
    Now I REALLY hope the official drivers will be at least 8.041...I'd hate to wait another month for that instancing support, especially since Far Cry Coop is already looking quite promising...

    I was wrong... instancing isn't working... about a 50% fps drop on research map

    What is your log.txt saying about instancing? Also this one?

    well for me instancing is weird lol if i put 1 i get same fps lol and if i put100 i get the same aswell hard to tell with out fraps but im shure i didnt notice any lag ect :/ for instancing to work does it have to be 1 or 100 ? 1 would be normal right ? 100 would be far out more detail correct there for instancing correct ? ohh head ake now lol

    Ok guys put to rest these drivers dont support any instencing nuff said :p

    odnt work on XT or Pro or R3.xx cards

    here is my log.

    I get the same thing above those 2 fail with 4.7 and 4.8 beta

    So these "leaked" drivers are...worthless for instancing etc.?:rolleyes:
