I was thinking the same, but wanted to make a bit of a joke. :) I guess they thought it would unnecessarily slow things down, as people are mostly already informed that they should postpone if they know they aren't well, so they left that for the medical "exam", which is highly parallelized, unlike that greeting part outside which is more or less single file.

I still can't even set up an appointment... Nobody is accepting people at this time.

Darn it. :( In a bizarre parallel universe in which Serbia functions, this is, apparently, a real ad:

    VizesizSirbistan.jpg

That's for two trips from Turkey to Serbia, with plane tickets, a total of 4 nights at a 4* hotel and the vaccines (which I think are free). I don't think that there are such options from the States, though.

The armed forces were in charge.
    Fantastic experience.
I would do it again. Well, I am going to have to do it again, but you know what I mean.
Fantastically organized, attention to detail, politeness, etc.
    God I miss the navy.

Anyway, the second dosage is in a bit less than a month from now.
In case anyone wants to know, it was the Moderna vaccine.

Cool! You're the first person I know that got a Moderna vaccine. :)

I don't know why it doesn't get more attention in the media than the others. It's at least as good as the Pfizer one and has no major negatives. Or even minor. It's like (for the media) it doesn't exist.

I think that they were slightly late with ramping up production compared to Pfizer (they probably don't have Pfizer's resources and infrastructure). Other than that, they are pretty much on par in all aspects, with Moderna being a bit easier to store (-20°C vs -70).

Feeling fine. The only side effect is a slight pain at times near the point of injection.
I was told it was possible for the first couple of days, as slight fever. Thankfully I have no fever that I know of. I haven't measured myself, but I don't feel feverish.
The pain when I feel it is faint. I have no need to get a pain killer. I can't feel it at all most of the time.
    So far, so good.

To be fair I think that's pretty standard with all the injections they are a pretty deep muscle injection, Glad you have no other symptoms I was good after mine but my wife had a bit of a rough couple of days after hers.

    Good for her!
Yesterday evening the pain was almost gone. Today I feel no more pain. As I said before, it wasn't a 24/7 pain and it wasn't strong enough to even consider getting a pain killer.
If this is the worst I will experience, I am fine with it. :)

I had a conversation with a close friend of mine. (phone).
I asked him when he is planning on having the vaccine as he will be able to set an appointment from this week on.
He told me that because we don't know for how long the vaccine protects, he will skip it till September to have it with the flu one.
I told him this is a stupid excuse and he should know better. He is very clever.
He stands by the bullshit reasoning. I got angry with him. Partly because he is not stupid, partly because he used it on me.

I am so disappointed in him.

Hey, I sometimes feel / think that this should be handled the same as the 1972 smallpox outbreak (we imported a case from the middle east and by the time doctors realized what was going on, we had an epidemic on our hands; martial law was declared, mass vaccination was organized and the next month it was all over), but try not to lose friends over it. It's good people that care about you and that you could normally rely on in life, but now they are scared; scared of what they don't know and of admitting that to you, apparently.

I get super frustrated with my better half, but then I realize that even her gynecologist was trolling her and telling her to skip the vaccine because "the long term effect on fertility has not been studied", and then I realize that I'm blaming the wrong person. Also, that bitch that calls herself a doctor took the jab: "I'm a medical professional! Also, I don't plan more children." Yeah, well, using her logic, the long term effects on the CNS haven't been studied either, but she somehow decided to risk that. I guess she doesn't intend to use her brain in the future either?!

Oh I know it's not his own ideas. I even told him that. But he doesn't want to say more on it. I am suspecting his girlfriend, but I have no proof.
That still doesn't take away from him not using his brain. He has no lack of.

Second dose today. So far nothing to report. All went well.
If I have the money then in a couple of weeks I am going to pay for a blood test to check the antibodies.

Finally got the second shot today.... With only 38% of Ohio having received 2 shots and the rest refusing to get theirs I don't hold much hope it will be over very soon. Mask mandate has ended also...

Last night (it's almost 0630 here) around 2230 I started having fever, headache, pain in a few parts of my body.
I managed to sleep about 4ish hours.
    This feels shit.
I can't imagine how bad I would feel if I got sick with the actual virus. Probably die.

Let's hope I get better soon.
