Hey guys, sorry I've done some searching and I'm still confused so...anyways I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty pro and I'm picking up Logitech's z-5500s here in the next few days. My question is what is the best way to hook the speakers up to the sound card: 1. The usual 6 channel analog with the 3 cables (R/L, Center/sub, RearR/RearL) 2. Digital Optical or 3. Digital Coax Obviously I want this to be 5.1. I really don't know much about the optical or coax. Are they 5.1? Obviously I have a decent sound card so I want it to do the heavy lifting on sound processing. Thanks for your inputs
The Ananlog 5.1 of the X-FI, when your using analog your using the sound card DAC. WHen your using digital, your using the DAC of the Z-5500s. And the DAC in the Z-5500 isnt that good.
Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that when using the digital output that the soundcard was no longer in charge of the processing, which is obviously the point of having a decent sound card. Thanks for the info.
