what the hell is happening....is it just me or is it that ....computer components are becoming the next doll house tools for girls (exclude tommy girls)....i loved the videos from Toms hardware (that cool music and burning processors), and i have been searching for similar videos....and this is what i recently came across.... www.3dgameman.com enter the video section and you see cool installation videos of extremely cool stuff like 6800 or x800 or some xms memory....whats wrong with that you ask? sure sounds "man-ly" enough but this hardware site has a big goofy picture of a girl next those super zalman fans or x800s or 600W neon PSUs..surprisly most of those installation videos are done by a man what the hell is this? a new strategy to attract hardware buffs....is this all they can think of...exploiting the weakness of the male (exaggeration please).... i mean comon how often do we see thg, firingsquad, xbitlabs or other hardware sites posting semi nude pictures of their female staff as wallpapers??...i think porn sites do a better job (job = showing enlarged buttocks on screen) btw anyone got any sites that shows videos?
Sooo true. Few months ago there started a new 'tech-entertainment-mag' here, short and shitty hardware-reviews, each issue comes with a DVD with an average movie and a lower-average game. The mag is filled with home electronics and hardware presented by models, all pictures taken in a hollywood-wannabe-style. Their creed is 'No matter whether our mag is crap, as long as the models justify the price. Hell, really, where will that end? I'm afraid of the day Abit produces pink mobos to suit my girlfriend's preferences...
WOW!!! what a terrible site. I just sat through the video review of Crucials Ballistic Memory. I cannot tell you have much of an idiot I felt like as he repeated "DDR Dual Channel" and the memory timings over and over and over and over again...what a terrible site.
I think the 3dGameMan site does their thing with a sense of humor. They're not the first site you look to for deep review material, but at least they have a style of their own. It may be for the most part a not very polished style, but at least they have one. And guess why so few sites make video reviews? Well for one it's damn hard. I'd like to see more reviewers give it a try if they feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if video isn't necessarily a useful media for every type of hardware review. And finally, the "doll" seems to have enough brains of her own to choose how to appear on the site. http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32071
damn, i have to say I don't see what your problem is with an attractive woman posting pictures of herself, and reviewing hardware, sounds all good to me.
just that i get distracted....such stuff does fit well in computer related stuff ....not that i am against Nalu or Dawn...maybe it was the 100 faces on a single page that pissed me off.....
exactly my experience...there was a cool magazine...it then recived a letter over how it was for men only (probably a woman complained) besides the fact that there was not a single pic of a woman...the next isuue the had all pictures of attractive women (like that was supposed to help)...and further on their created a new issue about gadgets thats had pics of models in erotic clothing......obviously geeks and nerd paid more attn to the models than the gadgets
Haha, ya. Taking a picture of a shitty product with a hot model won't make it better Personally, if I want to see pictures of delicious women I go for Playboy, FHM, Maxim and other stuff than to buy a mediocre tech magazine :dead: I say keep the models out of tech magazines and invest the saved money into reviews and proper journalism!
I personally would love to do my own review site or at least be part of a website and do their reviews. First thing I'd like to review is globat.com ! Boy oh boy do I have a fight to pick with them! And a videocamera wouldn't scare me, afterall I do intend on being a teacher so I will have eyes on me at all times
Yeah, I feel your pain dude...but you have gotta admit, that is a real juicy butt right there...
PC Accelerator was the best magazine there ever was until some rich prick shut down the magazine for reasons unknown to me. It had just the perfect mix of 'sex sells' and pc information. I used to read the magazine's every word because they were so candid. If you can find a mag anymore you should try to pick one up. I am sure it will be tough though because they've been gone for quite some time. I wish I would have kept all their mags. Sigh...
First off...any tech site that uses frames, much less that ugly a useage of frames, as their website....needs to be blacklisted...lol
Precicely I'm more into hardware than assware sites I tend to separate the magazines I read about technology and the ones with t3h pr0n
Anyway, I 'enjoyed' several of his cooler reviews yesterday. It's nothing special about them, just short product introductions. I found an advantage of the cooler reviews, though: You can experience the sound of the fans which isn't a bad thing at all. Example: Have you ever had an ARCTIC COOLING Copper Silent HSF? There were sites that really claimed the fan as silent due to their subjective opinion. MY subjective opinion: They're everything BUT silent, the fans have a disturbing deep noise. I can't find a fault in reviews like that, you can build your own subjective opinion about a HSF combo before buying it, and that's what counts, in the end everyone wants to spend his money on products that suit him. But the images showing his wife and the product are truly exaggerated lol.
