Doom III and ULTRA Quality

    I think FEAR will use the new Monolith engine, could be wrong though;)

    I noticed the odd gudder with even 1 gig of ram in the machine, with 2 gig of ram it was silky smooth at ultra. I also find the PCI express rig handles this game better on ATI which is interesting. like 5fps+ higher at equivalent settings.

    With so much going over the AGP bus, especially on Ultra settings, I can see how PCIe could help a bit.

    Funny thing is ive never seen this before until today - its a good 5fps higher, even moreso in some cases.

    D3 really does push hardware and its awesome PCIe is starting to shine. I'm definitely going to have to think of PCIe on the next round of upgrades

    Its like having a top sports car and putting in cheap gas to power it (bad analogy maybe but you get the point), when you push your foot down in Doom3 you get the odd glimpse of what is going to happen in the coming months/year on PCIe - cant wait to see how this develops.
