"It appears that some lucky people have got their hands on a copy of Doom III and currently links are flying around the internet with early screenshots of the game. Ya, i have it, john carmack is the end boss, he was hard.

 

One of the pictures looks like the game is two CDs, but I couldn't really tell... does anyone know exactly how many CDs it is? I thought it would be more than two...

 

depends on the compression used… and i have a sneaky feeling that large number of cds is used to waylay piracy… lots of junk "bits" taking up space on the cdz…

 

thats becouse the full game leaked about 3 or 4 weeks ago and people are warezing it....

It's not been released!

 

They have pictures of the manual though, which you can't get if you pirated it...

yea i'm sure no one @ ID software has acess to a scanner wich is what the image of the manual is a scan ... no cd's, no boxes

I doubt they sold them they could get in ubber toble. More likely an employee that "lifted" a copy

 

Even if they "lifted" a copy, they could just wait for 3 days before shipping it (so it's after the release date). It would basically make it a 100% fully legal, binding contract. I really would hate to be the jokester bidding 20million on it since as far as I can tell, that looks like a legitimate sale.

 

Apparantly, the person who is selling that is pretty infamous in some of the Doom3 fan communities.

 

Hey look, if you looked at EBay fees, the seller owes EBay about 300,000 bucks for the sale.

 

and he has to pay in 30 days!

he cant get credit for the false sale untill like 60 or 90 days

 

anyway not only links to screenshots have been seen, i just saw a site that has the torrent already, warez warez when will they learn -.-

there is also a dvdversion and a 5cds, but 4/5 cds are just addons

 

IF i get this game, i will pay for it… and not $5 for the cd's it was burnt on… i mean going into the store and buying it
