They should have made "Quake 4 the movie".........
Yeah, I say the movies last night like 6 hours ago cause its 4am now. One of the worst movies I have seen in a while.
Still wont beat when they cast Brad Pitt or Ben Afflec for the roll of Sam Fisher when Splinter Cell comes out. Will someone please nuke hollywood?
One question for those who've seen it. From the trailers it seems like there is no portal to hell in it, so, my question is, is there a portal to hell in the movie?
Nope. Genetic mutation, seems like they went with the Resident Evil theme because they saw it worked (though both of those movies were crappy also).
We live in the crappy hollywood movie era.
I saw the movie lastnight, was exactly what I expected (not a good thing). That said I wasn't disapointed because I knew it would just be another bomb for video game movies, it felt like you were playing a game but your friend wouldn't let you have the controller. Go see it if you must, but it'd be better to wait for the DVD and have some laughs with your friends.
RE movies were crap? I think not! They were great movies, thou i do love zombie movies
Doom the movie sucks, as does Doom3 the game. Thank god for Quake.
Z, it seems I recall you saying that D-3 was the most immersive game you've ever played. Is there that great a difference between immersive and good?
I think you must have been reading my initial comments after the first hour, as I was quite outspoken with my feelings about the game being basically nonexistant.
Well the fact the ROCK is in the movie is a good enough reason to flee it like the plague..
And I found the resident evil movies still okay. Though the only good game movie ever was Mortal Kombat
you didn't like Street Fighter!?!?!
Was hilarious but not for good reasons....
I have to admit, I liked MK and Resident Evil. Mario Bros was also good (when I was 10 or whatever). But somehow, I think these movies will not stand the test of time, lol.
MK is still pretty good. Nice action movie to turn up the speakers too. Resident evil was also pretty classy.
Doom was borring, and annoying. You can just tell they had a bunch of 'creative people' around a table 'brainstorming' on a LIST of things that are in Doom. Though when even its creators seemed clueless in what doom, doom I can see why things would go so badly.
The portal to hell storyline would have been more interesting.
I dunno, I thought it was a good movie because I found it interesting to notice certain things about the movie that were in the game and such.
I just read that, for this weekend, Doom 3 movie took first place at the ticket booth.
Because there was nothing else to see and people were praying it may be good.
Halo will be good if it is done right.
I heard Doom had a cameo of the chainsaw from Army of Darkness...
Saw it yesterday.
I can't say I was disappointed as I was prepared for the worse but it was pretty abd.
Total lack of plot but lots of killing and blowing stuff up though.
Separate names with a comma.
