DOTS in games

    I installed the new OMEGADRIVERS just the other day and i noticed in CS whenever I play i look on the walls and my hand/gun models there are little baige/white dots going all over the place, you cant notice them to much but they are there. I got a ati 9800 xt pro. PLEASE HELP.
    Is there somethign ic an turn off and on in the ati tray to stop this?

    do you have your graphics card overclocked? This sounds a lot like artifacting, which can happen due to high heat/load on a graphics card.

    its got something to do with the drivers UNLESS in these omega drivers they overclock it for you?

    Omega drivers not automatically overclock. It could just be a bad installation. Did you uninstall your previous drivers before installing the omegas?

    No driver overclocks without express permission.

    I'm gonna point the finger at poor cooling

    I just REINSTALLED the drivers and now they dont have the dots anymore BUTTT they dont look as good as they did before? The edges are all rugged again in CS and stuff? But before it was super sharp butt it had all those dots?

    well, it could have been you were setting your anti-aliasing levels to high, causing high stress on your card. For the 9600xt, i found its usually safe to play with AA 4x. Anti-Aliasing, if you don't know, smooths out the edges on rendered object, often affectionatly called "jaggies".

    I Don't think its a case of being too stressed though, I'd really look at replacing the cooler on that card

    try underclocking the card and see if the dots are still there. You could also dust out your system.
