Software: Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 1E10 (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E10&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_C4) +Intel(R) 82801 PCI bridge - 244E +(PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_244E&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_C4 ) ++Intel(R) 82801 PCI bridge - 244E ++PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_244E&SUBSYS_88921458&REV_41 As i found, creative emu10k1-... is only known to me PCI cards revision 2.1, that can not work with the it8892E PCI host revision 2.3. The emu10k1 card is or not listed at all (most times), or listed with vendor 0000 (unknown device) or listed with error code 10 (can not run device). It looks like PCI hardware unreliable transmissions (for example, floating high logical level), but the creative card emu10k1 has hardware PCI keys "universal" (3.3V or 5V signal environment). Actually 3.3v power or rail PCI pins are not used by emu10k1 (in real, the key does not matter, to test i took 5V keyed "S3 virge (86c325) VGA, 1997" PCI device and the device is working perfectly in the system, but uses rail PCI pins, see below). There are some differences unworking emu10k1 with working S3: S3 has not implemented TDO-TDI link PRSNT1,2# power profile PERR#,SERR# S3 has implemented ground instead of 3.3V PCI key (b12,b13,a12,a13) S3 links 3.3V host rail to 5V host power (pins b59-b61,a59-a61,b8-b10,a19) Is it possible that the "universal" PCI keys for emu10k1 is fake and emu10k1 requires 5V host signal environment? Or are there emu10k1 low level PCI software issues (wrong PCI config space or something else)? I ask here i saw people talking here about "bits in PCI config space" for emu10k devices. What is the problem: - emu10k1 requires 5V signal environment in spite of card keys - emu10k1 has PCI low-level software limitation - the system hates creative (creative vendor) - the system hates me (my windows installation) - any else? ## Now it's working, right now. I don't now why, some days before noone of three different creative cards works in the system. I reduce PCI frequence, reload and up frequence back, reload - working. May be BIOS stores errors on bus and PCI host refuses to reinit bad cards? Mystery.
