Some of you may recall that I got Cochlear Implants 7 and 8 years ago. Since then, my hearing has improved from less than 10% to over 97%! It's been quite a life-changer! Since, due to my hearing loss, I missed out on all the really good artists and groups from the 70s onward. So, I'm asking if you'd be willing to post YOUR best THREE artists/groups from each period. If a particular song of that group is what makes it stand out, please add that, as well. Thanks! I'm enjoying my Amazon Music (Free) through my cellphone provider via AndroidAuto and my Bluetooth system at home.
As a whole I would suggest any Pink Floyd from The Dark Side of the Moon onwards, we are talking stunning harmonies great soaring guitar and ATMOSPHERE by the bucketload. Restricting it to 3 is hard so I will suggest stuff that I return to often as opposed to The Beatles, Oasis, Stone Roses, Portishead, CCR, Janis Joplin, Blondie, Kate Bush. The Jam, Madness, Iron Maiden, Springsteen etc etc all great but probably stuff you have already found SO anyway Pink Floyd - Coming Back to life then individually from the 70's these 3 and my favorites of theirs the Kinks - Waterloo Sunset The Who - Substitute and just for the vocals Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion Then the 80's Gotta throw out U2 even though you probably had them U2 - the Unforgettable fire
Not aloud more than 5 clips so spread this out ..... James - Sit Down (Might have to search on Tim Booth as James is a common name) and The Cure - Close to me 90's My least favourite decade musically however Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness The Stereophonics - 1000 Trees and finally Pulp - Disco 3000 Dyre don't take the wrong way at all please but hell matey I almost envy you in some ways, I would kill to be able to sit and listen to Dark Side of the Moon for the very first time again it was probably the album that defined my music taste for decades it was just that "what the fuck am I listening to I have never heard anything like this" I remember that first time so well. I was adopted and my parents were a generation older than my friends parents (my dad was 45 and my Mum was 42 when they took me on as a 6 month kid my natural mum was only 17) so while my friends parents were listening to the Beatles I was listening to Mario Lanza and David Alexander, welsh Choirs and Frank Sinatra my taste was eclectic to say the least but then my friend turned up with hos copy of DSOTM we stuck it on and BANG. I do envy you but man I hope you enjoy at lease some of the stuff I put up there.
And for 2020 something a little different, a little African hit for you, I checked what he is actually saying, he is singing about him and the boys picking up girls.
70s: Billy Joel, Thin Lizzy, CCR (Creedent Clearwater Revival) and, separately, the song "Hi Ho Silver Lining" by The Attack 80s: Queen 90s: Lots of good one-shots so I'll avoid listing those. Daft Punk, Oasis, Green Day
