Saving Private Ryan's opening sequence was amazing. The rest of the movie wasn't all that great.
Godfather I, II, and III would my 1, 2, and three picks, in that order too.

    Shawshank Redemption.

It's the only movie I can really watch over and over again.

I must agree with NME, Pulp fiction is unique, so is form dusk till dawn

second place goes to The Devils advocate. (actually all Al Pacino movies are great)

LOTR, is something else. It's not a movie, its a concept, maybe the greatest movie concept in years.

but there are so many many more i can name, just think about the:
    - Matrix
    - Goodfellas
    - Ronin
    - Event horizon
    - so many many more

So many good movies, it's hard to pick one as my favorite, but my top favs are:
    • Star Wars Trilogy
    • The Matrix
    • LOTR 1 & 2
    • Indiana Jones Trilogy

There are more, but that's enough for now. :D

2001: A Space Odyssey for me. A beautiful, timeless and evocative film. I've watched it more times than I care to admit and it just seems even better every time.

    Matrix
    Terminator 1 + 2
    All the Star Wars movies
    Falling Down
    Heavy Metal 2000

....to name a few. Essentially, futuristic and comedy-type movies. If I want an actual story, I'll read a book.
