ok this isnt so much annoying as just a minor nuisance

Ok so whats happening (and this is before and after a full reinstall) is this if i open firefox and browse to a site then on that site click a link taht opens another page the new page will open but then the original page with the link i clicked will pop over the top of it and im back to my first page .... (reading that back its not plain so) ...

    1. open firefox on this forum
    2. click on link to other site that someone has posted
    3. new page for site opens ( I prefer multiple pages over multiple tabs)
    4. I now have 2 pages open the original page and the new page in front of the original
    5. The original page decides that it needs to be in front and they switch places with no action on my part

    any ideas anyone ??

Could be related to a plug-in. I've seen some people report this behaiour with downloaders and even Flash. Have you tried updating your Flash player?

my experience has been this has always happened.. I've gone into the firefox settings and made sure that "open new window in new tab" is checked.

Some websites though ignore that settings and open a new window anyways.

Either way.... 99% of the time, the new window appears BEHIND the original window that I clicked the link on.

The only plugin I have is Adobe Flash.... nothing else.. utterly nothing else... ever. Always just seemed to be the way it was handled.

    Yes

Updated and disabled and still it happens the plugins are all pretty bog standard barring a dictionary

This is new for me and I have used firefox for years but this is happening for maybe the last 6 months or so :(

This happens frequently for me as well. I haven't been able to figure out why this is and how to prevent it. I try to use tabs instead as much as I can.
