It seems as though Stadia’s VP and Head of Stadia Games & Entertainment, Jade Raymond, is returning to her Assassin’s Creed roots to help build out the new development team at Stadia.

As reported by VGC, Google has hired some of its first key members of Stadia’s new first-party studio in Montreal, all of which are coming from Ubisoft. Sébastien Puel, the former executive producer for Assassin’s Creed, has reportedly joined the studio in the role of director general. Francois Pelland, who worked at Ubisoft Quebec previously on both AC and South Park: The Fractured But Whole has joined on as head of production for Stadia. Lastly, Mathieu Leduc has also joined the team as an art director. Leduc previously served in the same role at Ubisoft and helped lead both Watch Dogs games in addition to working on the first Assassin’s Creed.

Again, considering Raymond’s history with Ubisoft, it’s not too shocking to see her hiring people that she likely has worked closely with in the past. Plus, considering Stadia’s studio is located out of Montreal, it seems as though the company has attracted many who are already in the area. If I had to guess, we’ll likely see more Canada-based devs joining the company in the future.
