Beautiful... a view like that might be one of the only things that would motivate me enough to get on a plane.
What land mass are we looking at here?
well the last shot has Mono Lake in the dim beyond, but its right at the Nevada and California border in some shots. I believe we flew over Bishop CA. on the way in and Yosemite, and then we flew back from San Francisco to Reno and then from there to Colorado.
damm nice shots old timer
Excellent. Cant say I've flown enough to recognize this side of the states from the air. Its certainly beautiful though.
I didn't want to make the assumption that is was the states knowing that I'm not a "well traveled individual".
I must also say that is one disgustingly cute dachshund you have there in your sig.
Leena was a Dachshund I shared with my ex-girlfriend some years ago. She was a good dog and quite a stinker. When I went abroad she became a handful for my ex so she gave the dog away to a breeding ranch and Leena became the Alpha female. I sure hope she fared well, I still miss her, I tought her many tricks and probably spoiled her too.
i was raised with dachshunds and have retained my passion for them since. They have wonderful personalities and as such make great companions.
I hope soon my life will settle down enough to warrant getting another one. I just hate the thought of not being able to give the attention that such an animal requires.
great animals non the less.
Love your pictures, thanks for sharing.
I look forward to pics and artwork from everyone I hope.
Ha! I was just about to guess whether that was Mono Lake!
When were you in San Francisco, Jeff? And do you have any Colorado landscapes to share?
Here is a different view of the lake, from a trip that I look not long ago:
wow, that is close to where the filmed a Clint Eastwood movie I think.
My ship would pull into China Pier once in awhile, and when I worked at Fallon Nv, I would drive patients over the pass to Naval Hosptial Oakland and visit a girl that danced at Centerfolds at night was an xray tech during the day. this was between 87 and 93.
I'm guessing that might have been quite a scenic drive over the pass. An old timer had once suggested that road to me, but I couldn't take advantage at the time.
The furthest I've been in that area was during the same trip as I took that photo: to Lake Tahoe. A much prettier lake than Mono, mind you (in my opinion.)
I agree, I made many stops between Reno NV, and Oakland California. The girl I was dating from Centerfolds became my second wife. We would spend a weekend downtown just walking around and enjoying life. I even spent a weekend at Treasure Island courtesy of the USN to attend an Epidemialogical Conference. I will see if I have anything like that when i go home on my old Maxtor drive. Suffice to say, I will be there the second week of September before my Bday to attend a DOD software conference.

I plan to find the old haunts in San Fran and eat some Noah's Bagels.
Best Bagels in the world.
Do you by chance work with SunQuest at all?
No, I dont have any connection to any laboratory companies, they have several here that do the blood banking, batch testing, chemistries etc.
They have some Noah's bagels around here, but I haven't visited one yet. I just came back from S.F. on the 26th, myself. My first trip there.
The best thing I had there was a sandwich at Ike's Place . . . a long wait, but my whole group said it was worth it!
The wing shot is from Embraer 190/170 sereis??
did you catch my Duxford pics Temy?
And yeah, a sandwich at Ikes?
