Do you have a static or dynamic IP?

The best i've tried was Serv-U, pretty easy to configure with the wizard and lots of configuration options, worth a try :)

Yeah it is, an ip that constantly changes, there's a way to get an address that will access your ip but I forgot how.

go to www.dyndns.org and get a domain name(its free)...than you can download a little smart app called deeEnEs 2 that will update your ip against the domain name...

I think the best way to host images and things like that, is to do the job with Apache web server. Download and install, it's freeware, and very easy to use/tuneup. And get the decent http-equivalent for your dynamic ip from www.no-ip.com (or dyndns).

As regards FTP Server, I have found the best is definitely BlackMoon FTP Server - www.blackmoonftpserver.com - but if you want something that's easy to use, go for Serv-U.
