Microsoft today announced that its Games for Windows initiative is set to expand with the launch an online PC gaming marketplace this fall. If this brings the Live interface to the desktop, that would be awesome! im hoping they go the Steam route with CD's as well. If you register a retail game on their service it will become no-CD. This would be very nice with Gears of War PC. They allowed no-CD for Halo 2 PC. i dont understand why they didnt do it wih GoW as well...
It will take a lot to over come Steam. They already dropped the ball when they didn't release it for free in the first place.
